Spring break in Oregon II

Day II Friday. I got to spend some one on one time with my step mom (whom might I say I like a ton!). We "went into town"! That'll make you feel bone-e-fied country won't it? I got on my city clothes and we went to Wally world of course! My favorite stop was Sherm's Thunderbird where I found Butter beer!!! Ok, so it's not from the "Leaky cauldron" like in the movies/books but close enough! The best part about being in Oregon is no sales tax!!! Hog heaven!!

Saturday was a rough day to start. My dad and I went on a mini bike ride that was insane! I'm so used to riding on flat ground here in Sacramento. Needless to say I learned how to use my gears! Plus my dad gave me this fantastic drawing my papa drew in 1933!! I had no idea he was such a talent!

Driving home was a breeze. I stopped for Sonic. Couldn't pass up the sweet potato tots!!! Only suffered minor culture shock as I drove up to downtown. I miss the farm already. Next time I hope to bring Shane and maybe his sister. Hope all of you had relaxing spring breaks I know I did!

Spring break day 1.

Just a small update on my spring break to Oregon. It started out great! Woke up and worked out. Got on the road a little late but that's ok. The scary part? My car over heated in the middle of no where! Thankfully it all got taken care of and the nicest man at a gas station fixed it up enough to get to Dads.

I'm excited to be here. I feel more relaxed. I took a pit stop at the Medford temple which was refreshing to say the least. I'm such a worry wart though I hope the condition of my car doesn't weigh too heavily on my mind. Lesson learned for this day, it will all be ok!

March 2 Fitness

For the majority of March I was participating in Instagrams "March 2 Fitness". It was a really good motivator until I became so busy with working out and eating healthy I didn't have time to post pictures! My main goal was to break my 2 week slump. Typically I will hit the gym hard for two weeks and either I get sick and stop going, or, I just decide I don't want to anymore. So the plan was to go at least 5-6 days a week for 3 weeks. I am proud to announce I went 4 to 5 times a week (or worked out/ran at home) the entire month of March. For me getting over that one month slump meant a lot. I feel like its taken this month to make eating healthy and staying active, not just something I do to loose weigh,t but a total lifestyle change.

Another past wrench in my gears has been weight. I realized that because I focused on how much, or how little, I was loosing would completely throw me off. If the numbers on the scale weren't what I wanted them to be when I wanted it to be then I would quit! So this time around I am not weighing myself. I've been taking measurements to make sure I am making progress. For me this has got to be about the way I perceive myself. Do I feel good? Do I think I look good? Yes? Then GREAT! I am temporarily counting calories to cut a little weight but I am not making it a life long thing. I am loading up on veggies and I love it!

Shane is even getting on board! I am so happy. Changing your lifestyle to something that is right is never going to be easy. I can promise you that its going to be one of the hardest things you've ever done! However the results are so completely worth it!

A New Start

Recently (like yesterday) I deleted my Facebook (as much as you can delete it because I was too lazy to email Facebook to wipe it from the face of the internet entirely). Honestly I feel really great about it. I never really understood social networking sites. When Facebook first came out you had to be in college to be on it and that made sense. Your using it to network with students in your class, student associations, and possibly professors you may or may not have questions to ask. When the rest of the world joined I thought great! A place to pseudo interact! You can ask opinions and questions.

Well, quickly I realized this is all really one sided. I felt like Facebook and Twitter was a bunch of show boating, "hey guys look at this latest shopping spree" or it was just angsty teenage attention seeking. I know very negative Nancy of me right? Can I also mention that I proudly only had 30-40 friends. I don't understand having 200+ friends. Do you really know that many people or are you adding everyone you've ever said "hi" to?

Anywho, I have all this free time between homework and Pinterest now that Facebook is gone. I figured those who enjoyed following me on my Facebook can do so here. Plus its way more interesting because you can REALLY find out whats going on with me ya big ol stalkers!

Here is how my weekend went via Instagram. Another place you can follow me.

(1. Delicious and fancy red velvet. 2. What Napa day date isn't complete without food?! 3. Some shots from ride to Napa plus successful color blocking on my part. Can you tell I'm proud?)

Insta life...an Instagram post

" I'm pretty sure they put saw dust in these things"
So much going on lately! Sacramento's crazy "winter". My rain boots and I need more rain to survive properly! Roller skating rink birthdays. I even speed skated during the "fast skate" and made 8 laps! Fried pickles at a new yummy BBQ spot Lucille's. Lastly my weekly 30 mile bike ride with Jimminy. Pushed through that migraine like a champ I did! Topped off by statistics homework backed by dramatic Russian classical music (which does an amazing job at distracting me with visions of pointe shoes. Definitely dropping in on a class very soon). Very appropriate!

I'm giving up for red velvet woopie pies and Mormon speed dating. You know... tis the life of a sassy single student! Happy weekend all!!

As of Late

School started. For some reason I didn't realize, or was not yet willing to accept, that this is actually my LAST semester at community college!!! But its sunk in and I've never been so relaxed concerning school. I've achieved good grades in math last semester I can do it again. I am honestly nervous about my sign language class but when I truly think about it I LOVE ASL!! I wouldn't be opposed to continue my education and possibly get certified to interpret. Its been raining a ton (which means snow!! yay!!) so I finally got to wear my spiffy green Hunters.
Every Sunday I find myself kind of excited for at least one or two things in the upcoming week. Little victories! Hope you all have a fantastic week as well!

Year round resolutions

I don't believe in new year resolutions. I think people who make them typically set themselves up for failure (not on purpose of course). I agree that we can use the new year to start fresh. I like the idea of starting out with a fresh positive attitude or out look. I haven't made any new year resolutions. I have tacked on a few small baby step goals to ones I have been trying to do for the past year. Number one: get into a healthy habit routine again. Around the time I met Shane I was really doing great working out and eating healthy, at least on the week days. But it all worked well for me. I didn't even have a gym membership. I am all for loving the body we have currently. However, I just know I am happiest when I am a little more fit than I currently am. My healthy eating and work out schedule is a little too sporadic right now. Although I happen to have a roommate that is as interested in eating well and working out as I am. I know what happens when I pair up with people. And it typically isn't the best. I like the company but I get too immeshed with the fact that they need to be doing runs or eating right with me. I need to get back to doing all this completely for myself. What I am most proud of is that I am not scouring the web for "thinspiration" or trying to obtain something unachievable. I have my own little "healthsperation" right here... and its all me!

Finishing my first 5K

I'm also never going to cut my hair again. Must. Grow. Long!!!

How about you all out there? Continuing any goals? How do you plan on making this year more productive than the last?
