So I am, for the most part, moved into my new place.
I am so sick of walking up and down 3 flights of stairs.
I have bruises on my biceps from carrying boxes and such.
I am having a hard time enjoying and relaxing in my space as of yet.
I will post some pictures soon. Right now the place is somewhat in shambles.
The roomies kitty is here (and being a silly scaredy cat).
I bring my Raybeez tomorrow.
Here's to my second week of school starting tomorrow.
I hope some good stuff happens soon. Things are starting to feel like simply going through the motions.

Party On Your Feets
So a few of my friends have been getting a little more risque with their wardrobe. My risque is someone elses "cute" or "fashionable". I am recently emerging from a very modest fashion sense rut. The beginning of this year I decided I wanted to be the anti if you will and cover up in spite of my less modest peers. Now that I am slowly coming to my senses I have this urge to follow suit and "slut it up" as I have been calling it. I only have one short skirt and one short dress! Can you believe it?! Everything else doesn't go above my knees. I threw together here my first polyvore set (please excuse how plain it is. Pretend I was going for minimalist!). I was inspired by all these great party shoes I found on Endless dot com. In my mind mini skirts with sky high heels are the epitome of spicy. All items are under $100 likes I likes it. I plan on doing a huge product review post. I have come across a few new products that simply work! So stay tuned. I hope you enjoy my minimalistic set down there!!

Bebe.
Throw a dog a bone,
I'll take it if i have to
Go real fast like there's somewhere we can get to
What's the use of standing right there on the edge if there ain't nowhere to fall
What's the use in hanging on tight to the phone
If nobody might call
[Chorus:]
Desperation
There's danger in frustration
Complicated words slipping off of your tongue and ain't one of them the truth
I'm still desperate for you
Tell it like a lie,
live it like a movie
Give a heart away like it don't mean nothing to me
What's the use in making all the plans that we made if you weren't gonna go
What's the use of slapping on a smile for a face if your eyes don't wanna show
[Repeat Chorus:]
Well it's too damn bad you didn't have a chance to make me your best friend
You were too caught up in giving too much up and not doing what you should have been
[Repeat Chorus:] - Miranda Lambert (This really spoke to how I feel right now)

Not Much New.
I don't really have anything to post about.
I have been really down lately.
Moving is in my very near future and I think Rose and I found a solid place.
The weekend has brought some disappointments I am still reeling over.
I am getting back into modeling. Modeling makes me feel good about myself and I have a lot of fun playing dress up!
Saturday I went on a 30 mile ride on the bike with my friend Jimmy. It was fantastic!

A shot before I got into wardrobe. We went for a Mad Men feel.
Gary Roberts was the photographer. I love him!
How was your weekend? Do anything note-worthy?

Food for Thought
I officially started house sitting at the future roomies place. So far so good. Rose lent me this book Confederates in the Attic by Tony Horwitz. This is probably the first book I have ever laughed out loud to at least twice every chapter. The present chapter "The Civil Wargasm" made my laugh by far the loudest (I would share but I don't know how many history nerds are following). House sitting makes me really excited about moving. I keep imagining that this is in fact a 2 bedroom place and I am just on my own while Rose is away. Work was so so today. I was informed my puggle doggie buddy drowned over the weekend. I was a little devastated. I was introduced to the families new pug puppy which helped take the sting away. Puppy pug pictures to come!!

Oh Design Sponge
All Images via Design Sponge |
Oh how I love gallery walls. I love going to the Crocker Art Museum here in Sacramento for the same reason. Its images like these that make me so antsy to move out (of course, I instantly think of the $$ involved in the moving). Part of my nerves comes from wondering if Rose and I will clash in style. I love a perfect mix of modern and old. I am slowly collecting silhouette portraits. I found a set of my grandparents (on my Dads side) that were done in 1947 on Market street in San Fran! I have one of me done in Disneyland somewhere. I just can't get enough!

Uh, Hello?
Bike ride 2 completed. Well kind of.
Last weekend Jimmy and I rode 30 miles from Sacramento to Davis and back. We didn't get started until around 2pm so by then it was already 90 degrees!!!
This time we got a great early start and planned a 35/40 mile ride. The thing with Jimmy is he is in much better shape than I. Partially because I think he has a little more free time than myself to devote to working out not to mention discipline, thanks to the Army, to push himself more. So when we ride and Jimmy gets into his "Stride" he likes to sprint for a few miles. Usually Jimmy gets to a point and looks back to find me steadily catching up. This time, Jimmy didn't turn around. Jimmy kept going, and fast, for so long he completely disappeared and I had to give up. I turned around and just went back to the house. About 30 mins after I got back Jimmy arrived. Once Jimmy finally looked back he asked another cyclist if they had seen a girl biking. "In grey shorts?" asked the cyclist, "yeah" replied Jimmy, "Oh about 4 MILES AGO".
Needless to say Jimmy and I have put a few ideas (thanks to his girlfriend Lesley) in place in case this happens again.
I've also decided to print signs and pin them to the back of my shirt to communicate to people in cars.
"Would you stop if you hit me?
"Share the road. Its the law"
Any other suggestions? I sure didn't like looking up from my own stride to see a car trying to play chicken with me. Not to mention the countless times Jimmy and I narrowly get hit. SHARE THE ROAD PLEASE!

Best Day!
Oh happy day!
My car is getting fixed! All thanks to the greatest aunt/uncle duo I could ever ever ever ask for!
And a CA judge did the right thing and overturned the prop 8 decision. I was at every protest here in Sacramento except for 1 (I had class I couldn't miss). Gay straight whatever. This proposition was contradictory to the separation between church and state and countless other terms of the US constitution and the CA constitution. It makes me incredibly proud to be an American when I see our country work the way it was meant to.
I can't believe how lucky I am!

What do you like about my blog? What could I improve upon? What would you like to see more or less of?
Anyway, a mini update:
- Rode my bike 30 miles with my friend Jimmy to Davis and back to Sacramento
- Bought my first dress pattern and am learning to sew with my amazing aunt (and am obsessed with becoming a ruffles master!)
- I think I have solved my hankie dilemma.
- Work was stinky today (by stinky I mean smell.)
- I have no set plans for the next 2 weeks which is fine with me. These are my last 2 weeks of no school
- My family (aside from my aunt) is in complete disarray.
- My beloved Kioko (my Toyota) is dead forever. I am still mourning her.
