Getting to know you.

Went out last night and had just the best time! Janelle invited me out which was awesome of her. I love meeting new people (especially ladies, cause there are just not enough good ones worth hanging out with). The band was great. They are sadly only playing one more show, and this is the greatest thing, because they are all graduating from UC Davis to go on to bigger or better things. While I was out last night I took a look around me and briefly noticed something about some of the females around me. Half them looks like they were so concerned with how they looked while they danced. Instantly I decided to dance to my hearts content as retarded and foolish looking as I may have been! As a result of this decision I came to the very real fact that I am (you may need to sit down) in love. Yes, I knew the feelings were always there and that they were strong and very passionate. This is the first time I am discovering this.... I am crazy in love with DANCING! Its that healthy kind of love though I promise. No addiction here. I think I need to learn how to do all kinds of dance and dance for fun on a much more regular basis. I have to say that my immense enjoyment of last night had to do with being around some really friggin cool chicks! I feel that more so with this break up I am finding myself more interested and aware of connections that take place between women. Its so important to have those. Much more important than our connections with men.

The lovely Miss Boob Nazi is having a giveaway in celebration of her 1000th post! Thats a heck of a lot of posts! Go check it out, if anything, check it out because this girl is HILARIOUS  and inspirational all in one fell swoop!

Well, here is some Formspring questions. I don't know if Sunday is going to be "Formspring day" maybe every other since I don't get very many questions. I guess I am not so mysterious! haha. How was your weekend? What did you do? Hope you all had a fantastic weekend! Ready to kick into the next week? I sure am! The weather is going to be fantastic too!

Why do you sometimes hate your tattoos?

I think after the years of hiding them for jobs, being treated like a criminal/leper it started wearing on my opinion of them. Also, sometimes I look back on pre-tattoo pictures and I had beautiful skin. And I may have placed them differently (only done 3/4 sleeves and no chest piece) or don't like the design or quality of some of them. Good question!

If you could change ONE thing about yourself, physically or otherwise, what would it be?

I would love to have smaller boobs. Honestly. I was teased a lot as a kid, accused of "stuffing" or what not. Which resulted in bad posture which resulted in scoliosis and horrible back problems. It's muh root.

What are 5 mundane things that can happen in a day that will make you totally happy? by nickdillinger

That is darn good! Hmmm, Having coffee with a friend, getting a call from a good friend, a new dress, getting math problems right, discovering a good new song.

What was the last book you read?

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.

Would you rather swim in a pool or the ocean?

If the ocean is cold I would rather the pool.

What was your favorite toy to play with as a child?

Carebear. Brave heart to be exact.

Protest like its 1968!

Finally my post about Thursday!
So I went to school even though I really wanted to stay home and rest some more.
Poli Sci wasn't so bad.  Before I got to class though my friend Bobby texted me asking if I wanted to go to CA History Museum because it was free. Of course I did! History and free?! I got my test from last week handed back. I thought the multiple choice was what would save me, I didn't really know how to answer the short answers, but the short answers are what saved me! So weird. I will have to take that into consideration for this next text on Thursday. My professor mentioned that if we wondered why there weren't a lot of people in class today there was a protest at the capital over the UC and CSU fee hikes and cuts. I looked behind me (I'm the nerd that always sits up front) and sure enough hardly anyone was in class.

So I meet up with Bobby and start walking to the museum (he only lives 2 blocks from it and the capital). I said "wait!" and told him about the protest that we should go check it out! We walked over to the capital and we didn't see anything. Then we heard a loud collective "yeeeaaah!" so we walked around to the other side to be greeted by this

We stuck around for awhile and I noticed a lady with a microphone that said "Cap Radio". I got all giddy and told bobby I listen to that and that it was basically NPR. The lady noticed my excitement and asked if she could interview me. Of course I said yes!!

I was terribly eloquent and said exactly want I wished everyone would hear. Especially that I was disappointed that they would protest and get momentum and then stop protesting due to whatever reason. Its important to maintain a presence so people are forced to look at whats going on. Just like students from 1968, Davis students even got pepper spray shot at them for trying to march on interstate 80! I was also able to tell my hellish story of how my semester began trying to get classes and such and my disappointment in not seeing community colleges represented when they are being hit just as hard as the UC/CSU's. I decided I am going to get as invovled in this cause as possible. Not much about this economy has effect me or my peers until now. I intend on doing something about it!

Then we went to the museum. Ate in the cafeteria which wasn't that bad and started walking around.
Indiana Jones' Jacket and whip! I was so excited. AAAnd it was worn in my favorite movie The Last Crusade!

Then while we were checking out Eames stuff upstairs we noticed a rustle downstairs. We walked down there to check it out and I noticed in the middle of a circle of people was Maria Shriver!! Our first lady! I was like Whoa! Its a famous person (I never really see these, you'd think different because I live in CA, but no.). She was there speaking for the Minerva people about women folk.
So we go out to the courtyard and grab us some real estate to watch her speak.
Well the moment I look back at the stage I notice him! Arnold Shwartzenegger!! He wasn't as short looking as I had been told. That, or Mrs. Governor was wearing kitten heels for a reason.

I swear we were closer than this. Bobby's iphone needs to have a warning that says "objects may appear smaller." I didn't understand much of what they said. The acoustics were terrible. They had a ton of military there...ah hem...women folk in the military I mean. Tons of free stuff (Bobby was more than excited about that!). I had so much fun! A very noteworthy day.
Then yesterday I went to coffee with Bobby, he helped out a bunch with my math (thaaanks again!!). The mess of help with math is another post entirely (I wont write about you! oops just did in a round about way). I got a bunch done which is good. It's nice to have someone to joke around with and talk with about random things.
Did I mention I need an iphone? This was taken with one.

Its a new look for me. How do you like it?

Welcome followers. Thanks for adding. Looks like I have some goodies to put together for my first giveaway! Stay tuned! Today I plan on doing as much math as possible and resting. I am hell bent on starting this next week back in the gym! I can't go any longer! I also met a girl through school who invited me to go to a show tonight. I haven't been to a show in forever! I am really excited! She is a really nice girl and its neat making new friends. We have a lot in common (shot out!) haha.

So Full.

So I took a picture of today. However, Jimmy hates pictures apparently so I will only use found pictures to depict this morning.

I love this place! Now, Connie always spoke about it as long as I've known her and I could never imagine what the hell she was talking about (she is from the south, I still have yet to experience Piggly Wiggly)! When I lived on the east coast there was one 2 exits away!!! I ate there with my friend Jimmy at least once a week. Their pancakes are friggin amazing! I loved them with marion blackberry sauce the best! So my Uncle Paul has a relative that manages one in Asheville,NC and brought some mix and syrup back for me!!! Such an amazing guy!
Jimmy made really great bacon. The pancakes were as big as my head. The coffee was good. I had a tasty mimosa to top it all off while relaxing watching Tough Love (which I am totally going to apply for next season). I laughed a bunch. It was so fabulous! I ran from Jimmy as he creepily imitated Sponge Bob. I love being around people that are as weird and goofy as I am.

Outfit from today. Excuse the messy closet and semi shot of the blankie my Baba (grandma) crocheted me. Oh pockets in dresses how I love thee. I will buy pretty much any dress with pockets.

However, on my way home, my brain got to me. (your not obligated to read further. But I don't mind if you do!)
Now I try and keep my blog upbeat as much as possible. I like to treat this as I did with my Livejournal though. So sometimes, I'm sorry especially with my break up, its going to be kinda boo. I'm Trying. I really wish he was there to laugh with us. I miss doing things with him. Sharing experiences. I really miss having someone I can call and say "oh my god, you wont believe this!"I really thought he was the one so I really got used to the idea of having him around for times like this. I view partners as part of your life (ah hem "part"ner). Friends, even Connie who is essentially my sister, have their own lives and aren't around all the time. This thing thats most different from all my other breakups is; before I met him I was exactly fine and happy. Happy with my life, friends, decisions, goals. That's when you are supposed to meet "those" people. Well, it's really hard to get back to that when you are so assured that the person isn't going anywhere. He has asked me, "what do you want me to say?" I want you to say, "sit tight! I just gotta do some things and I will be right back." I would be there! I would be fine with being there! I am a true hopeless romantic and will do just about ANYTHING for the right guy. He keeps saying he has treated me better than any other guys. It kills me cause its true! Why does he say that? To remind me I can't have that again? So I was thinking, on my way home, I just don't see myself (at least for a long while) with anyone else. I saw myself with him. I still do. To end this rant, I will share a story. Since as far back as I can remember....
I have had this fantasy. That the man of my dreams ends up on my door step (window, back door, whatever porthole my little mind had thought up at the moment) and professes his undying love for me. "I can't live without you!" says all the typical romantic amazing things and purposes and we live happily ever after. I always imagined this intense, undying, completely epic John and Abigail Adams style love (I never cared for Johnny and June...too volatile.). I still want that. I fantasize about this very thing now more than a decade later. I think I will never loose hope for it.

New year.

So very glad there is a new year. I can't thing of too many amazing things that happened last year. Maybe three come to mind. This new year I spent at Aaron's place with my friends Jimmy and his girlfriend Lesley. It was fun. I love the champaign part. I even bought noise makers that drove Aaron's dog Kadee wild. It really was only a matter of time that she would bite me for blowing them so much. We didn't take any pictures. Which only really saddened me because I had a cute outfit on. Maybe I will just start taking my own pictures of my especially well put together outfits.

Last night I figured out how to use the video chat on Ichat. I talked with Connie for awhile. It was fantastic! And we didn't even use any of our minutes! There have been so many conversation in which facial expressions have been important to the story or we had to ask each other if something looked good for an outfit. Now we can!!!!
I really don't have any female outlets here. I have girlfriends, yes, but I don't have girly friends. I can't call anyone up to go window shopping, or actual shopping. I don't have anyone to craft with (especially now that I want to make headbands, necklaces, and handmade cocktail rings out of flowers and zippers.) Connie is coming back in May. So now I feel that I will have that outlet yet again. I think women need comrades in that way. I feel that they are important for our sanity. My mom helps a little bit. But she isn't a sister like Connie is. I especially like that Connie can talk about woman's issues that I think about a lot
She has a woman's emphasis on her nursing degree. Lately I have been having body issues. I know I am not horribly fat, but I feel a pressure to be what the media puts out as "beautiful" or "hot" thats for sure. I try and eat right and I go to the gym just about every day of the week (with one or two down days).  Today she made a comment on how she took a test and it said her figure was "womanly". Haha. Of course it is, she is a woman! But like she said, at least she wasn't a fruit! I think I am an hour glass. I think that means I am full of sand.
This is me last new year. My resolution was to wear more skirts and dresses. I'd say I held to that.

I suppose I should start my day.
